When everything feels like too much, Even Keel helps bring you back to centre. It gathers some of the gentlest herbs in the Western and Eastern traditions. Nourishing oat straw, prized by 19th-century American herbalists as a restoring tonic, forms the base. Chamomile has been steeped since the days of ancient Egypt and Greece, and peppermint has been an English cottage-garden classic since the 1600s. Together they settle an uneasy stomach. Rose petals, treasured from Persian rosewater to Chinese teahouses, soften a heavy heart, while a touch of lavender, once used to scent Roman baths, invites a slower, deeper breath. It's cool, floral and gently minty: a cup to sip when you're running hot and need to find your footing again.

Ingredients

Oat straw, chamomile, peppermint, rose petals, lavender.

To Brew

Steep 1–2 tablespoons in a cup of just-boiled water, covered, for 10–15 minutes. It is lovely warm, or cooled to room temperature on hot days.

Recommendations

Not recommended during pregnancy without guidance from a healthcare provider. Peppermint may aggravate acid reflux. Avoid if allergic to plants in the daisy family.
